About Me

I completed my Ph.D. from BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus. I completed my M.Sc. from NIT, Rourkela. Currently I am working as an Assistant Professor in Department of Zoology, School of Applied Sciences, Centurion University of Technology and Management, Bhubaneswar Campus. My research fields are Bioinformatics, Virology and Drug discovery. My lab is working in understanding the role of RNA secondary structure in Flavivirus Biology. We are also involved in understanding RNA-Protein, Protein-Protein, and Protein-Ligand interactions in Flavivirus and Coronaviruses (SARS- CoV-2).

Research Fields

As part of my research I studied the Flavivirus 5' UTR RNA structure analysis and showed the importance of Y shaped topology. I also studied the structural changes between all the four sero/genotypes of Dengue cyclization element and the possible disease outcome. We demonstrated the differences between the amino acid sequences of Dengue structural and non-structural proteins of different sero/genotypes. We studied the possible RNA-protein interaction between the Dengue UTR and proteins using different computational tools. We also studied the protein-ligand interaction in Dengue. Here we have explored small molecules of diverse libraries which have pan serotype activity against NS2B/NS3, NS3 helicase domain, and NS1.

Apart from that I also have worked on SARS-CoV-2 and other coronaviruses (SARS, MERS, HCoV-229E, HCoV-NL63, HKU1, and HKU4) drug discovery.
