Currently
serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Engineering
at Centurion University of Technology and Management, Paralakhemundi Campus, Odisha,
Dr. Deepanka Saikia holds a PhD degree in Food Engineering and
Technology from the Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar. With a notable
background of 4 years of teaching and industrial experience, he has showcased
his expertise by publishing 12 research papers/book chapters in
esteemed national and international journals. His contributions in the field
have also been recognized with 3 national and international patents,
highlighting his innovative work in areas of post-harvest processing equipment and drying.
Particularly noteworthy is his achievement in developing an elephant
apple corer/core cutter, for which he was awarded the Best Paper at the 19th International
Conference on Humanizing Work and Work Environment (HWWE 2021). Additionally,
he plays a significant role beyond academia, serving as a series editor for the
"Futuristic Trends in Agriculture Engineering & Food Sciences"
book series published by IIP Series. He also contributes as a reviewer for the
editorial boards of esteemed journals such as the Journal of Food Measurement
and Characterization (Springer) and Phytomedicine Plus (Elsevier). He
specializes in food processing, preservation, machine design,
drying, and quality control.
