Dr. Pratyush Kumar Das works as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Phytopharmaceuticals, School of Agricultural and Bio-Engineering, Centurion University of Technology and Management, Paralakhemundi. He graduated in Biotechnology from Utkal University and post-graduation in Industrial Biotechnology from Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (Deemed to be University), Bhubaneswar. He obtained his Ph.D. from Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (Deemed to be University) in environmental biotechnology and did his post-doctoral research from DBT – Institute of Life Sciences in polymer chemistry and its role in RNA interference for pest control in rice plants. His field of interest includes environmental toxicology and bioremediation of heavy metals from the soil, with special reference to hexavalent chromium pollution at mining and industrial sites in Odisha. He also has an interest in plant stress physiology, plant biochemistry, biofuels and bioenergy, polymer chemistry, and green synthesis of nanoparticles and their applications in medicine and the environment. Dr. Das has published more than 30 papers in journals of national and international repute. He is also the author of 3 books and several book chapters published by Elsevier, Springer, and other international publishers. He is a member of the Asian Council of Science Editors, Dubai (UAE), and the Royal Society of Chemistry, London (UK). He has received several awards at national and international conferences sponsored by Springer, DBT, DST, and CSIR (Govt. of India). He has been invited as a speaker at several conferences and scientific discussion forums. Dr. Das also serves as an editorial board member/reviewer to several journals of repute, which includes journals like Environmental Ecotoxicology and Safety (Springer), Chemosphere (Elsevier), Environmental Chemistry Letters (Springer), and many more. For his service as a reviewer, he was awarded the Global Peer Review award for the top 2% of reviewers in pharmacology and toxicology by Web of Science, U.K.
