About Me

Dr. Satya P. Nanda, Professor (School of Applied Science) & Dean (Administration), M. S. Swaminathan School of Agriculture and Allied Sciences, Centurion University of Technology & Management (CUTM), has more than 20 years of experience in academics & administration.  His education includes Ph.D., M.Phil., M.Sc. & B.Sc. in Chemistry from Berhampur University, Berhampur, Odisha.   Post Graduate Diploma in Plastic Processing Technology (PGD-PPT) from Central Institute of Plastic Engineering & Technology(CIPET), Bhubaneswar. His teaching & research interests are in the areas of synthesis of nitrogen based heterocyclic compounds and study of their optical and biological properties, kinetics of electron transfer reactions, environmental science, analysis of complex inorganic compounds.   He has guided three Ph.D. scholars.

He is a Patron member of Odisha Chemical Society, Odisha.

Ph.D:   Studies on Synthesis and Reactivityof Some Nitrogen Heterocycles & their Phramaceutical applications.

M.Phil:  Mechanistic Studies of Electron Transfer Reactions of 8-Hydroxy Quinoline with Sodium metaperiodate in aqueous acetic acid � perchloric acid medium.

 The main objective of my Ph.D work was to synthesize a large number of nitrogen heterocycles and to study their reactivity. The synthesized compounds then will be explored upon to find the significant optical, pharmaceutical and electronic property.

My M.Phil work carried out was the kinetics & mechanism of oxidation of 8-Hydroxy Quinoline with Sodium metaperiodate in aqueous acetic acid�perchloric acid medium at different temperatures & calculated the different thermodynamic parameters.  Based on all the experimental facts, a composite rate law and a plausible mechanism was derived.

Guiding two research scholar on topic:  �Synthesis of New Silica Based Adsorbents for Removal of Heavy Metal Ions from Aqueous Solution�  registered under Centurion University of Technology & Management, Odisha.
