My name is Dr. Sukumar Purohit, presently serving as an assistant professor at Centurion University of Technology and Management, Bolangir campus. I have completed my  Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. I have an M.Pharm in Pharmacognosy (Utkal University) major and my Ph.D. work is an interdisciplinary area that delves into the application of different secondary plant metabolites in different pharmacological activities and sustainable biofuels. I have expertise in the extraction, isolation, and characterization of secondary plant metabolites from different plant sources. In addition to this, I have sound practical expertise in different analytical techniques such as FTIR, preparative HPLC, analytical HPLC, GC-MS, Column chromatography, Flash chromatography, and so on. Along with this, I have firm experience in preclinical studies (mouse and rat models). I have published my work in many international journals and attended many national and international conferences. I had been selected as a special research student and visited GIFU University, Japan for a period of 8 months to carry out a part of my Ph.D. work between October 2019 to May 2020. Before joining the Ph.D. program, I had 4.5 years of research experience (January 2012 to June 2016). I had worked as research assistant at Institute of Life sciences, Bhubaneswar from January 2012 to March 2015. Afterwards, I had worked as a Junior research fellow at IIT Guwahati for a period of 1.5 years (March 2015 to June 2016) Presently I am serving as an assistant professor after my joining on 10.10.22 at Centurion University, Balangir.
